For sale here at Austin Custom Brass we have a coveted 1950 Martin Committee #2 Bore in Lacquer!

The Martin Committee trumpet was originally designed in the late 1930s for the Martin Band Instrument Company by the legendary Renold Schilke with play testing and feedback by a "committee" of diverse players and teachers. Schilke always maintained that the horn was actually designed "by a committee of one." The horn became widely adopted in jazz music because of its warm, rich sound and flexible intonation. It has a unique sound that has been described as "dark and smokey". The Committee was played by players such as Miles Davis, Dizzy Gillespie, Lee Morgan, etc.

The lacquer is worn at the contact points, but for the most part is in good shape for a horn from the 50's.It does have some tiny sign of pitting on the horn,  might be a great candidate to strip the lacquer (we can do that for a slight additional fee)

#2 medium Step bore

Has a few minor scratches. Valves are good with Hetman classic oil and do not need a rebuild IMO.
