King Liberty Trumpet Model from the 1920's
Serial # 111,xxxjust serviced, cleaned and aligned. In Great shape (see pics) and plays ridiculously well.Smaller shanked mpcs (or small reeves sleeved) work best on this horn.I love the sound and compact feel of these horns. In fact I have one in my collection (a bit older) that I use on certain applications. In my opinion (and many others) the early King Liberty horns might be the best "American Besson-inspired" horns. The Liberties, with the smaller .448 bore and tighter wrap, make ideal improvising instruments as it feels like you can move all over the horn with very little effort.I had my friends at Kingston Winds get this horn back to fully functional playing shape. The receiver is not original but a 30's-era Liberty replacement (I think).I have some videos of me playing on a Liberty and will see if I can upload them. These are some of the best horns of the era and still play great today!
