Tremendous horn. Forget the price tag, this is a good horn, period. When you find out you can buy this for around 1k, it feels like stealing. I got this to back up my. Brasspire 923, but I think it will definitely see gig time. Intonation good, great sound, easy to blow. I really dig it.
Manchester Brass RL-GB Trumpet
Exclusive North American dealer for these amazing horns
(Trent plays one when he doesn't use his Adams or Schlub custom horns)
We are so pleased with the fantastic success of the Manchester Brass line we asked our manufacturer to make us a complete custom model. This is an AMAZING playing instrument, perhaps the best playing trumpet you will find at this price on the market. Some key features:
Light weight, large flare (think Bach 72) 5 inch bell in gold brass
Nickel Inner slides
Stainless steel valves
.460 ML bore
Deluxe carry bag with backpack straps
Each horn will be personally play tested and adjusted by me, optimizing the playability
This horn has an absolutely huge Sound profile and tons of versatility (recording clips below).
This horn will sell for $1,040 shipped within the US.
I can't begin to tell you how excited we are for this launch. This horn, I believe, could easily sell for $14-1500 but that has never been our shop's mission to be greed based. We want to provide incredible equipment, personally tweaked and modded by our shop, for a great price.
Quick little demo below with two ACB mouthpieces... first take only (per my usual) ACB 3B and ACB Ta-Z
From Mahler to Maynard in 30 seconds... this horn is incredibly versatile and sells for around $1,000!
Here's another example of the amazing RL-GB!
Here's a new review from our customer George in Canada (2.23.17)
"Last spring, after a 50 year break, I decided to take up the trumpet again. I had played a Conn 28B during the 50s and 60s so I knew what a good professional horn is all about, and deciding on the Manchester ACB custom model RL-GB was a bit of a risk because I live in Canada and couldn't take a test drive. But I had already bought a vintage Selmer sight unseen from ACB and it had been a positive experience. Trent and Josh are great guys and you can take them at their word, believe me.
I got bought this from Trent as a back-up, take-to-middle-school-private-lessons horn (hey, if a kid knocks it off my horn stand or drops a music stand on it, not a major calamity), and did not expect too much. But dang, it plays WELL. And seems to have great build quality, fit and finish. Trent is a great guy to do business with, this was not my first purchase from ACB, and will not be my last!
I can't thank the guys enough for suggesting this horn when I was looking! I've only been able to justify playing student models before, but decided to get something (much) nicer for my birthday. This thing plays so wonderfully colorful and brilliant, it's hard to believe what I've been missing out on. I also like the physical weight and balance of the horn as it's very easy to hold for extended periods. This trumpet looks great and sounds beautiful! I would feel good about recommending this horn and Trent's shop to any one!
I agree with everything FM wrote in the first review. This is a great horn. Very nice feel, valves are great, the slides are amazing, the intonation is spot on and the nickel trim and gold brass bell look great. I also agree it reminds me of an Ingram horn but for me this horn has better intonation. It's just a fantastic instrument at any price.
Best value Pro Trumpet I have ever seen or played. Sound is very balanced. Sounds great! (Check out Trent's demo on the web site). Construction seems really solid and clean. I LOVE the Nickel slides!! Intonation is very, very good from low F# to Double C. I like that double high C on this horn slots easily open versus 2nd & 3rd valve. Strikes me as playable in any musical setting from classical to pop/jazz/lead. Reminds me somewhat of the Roger Ingram Jupiter at about half the price. I like the case as well. Very light but sturdy and "backpackable". Best pro trumpet value on the market today.
