I'm very pleased with the sound of this horn. It's easy to play in all registers, comfortable for my aging shoulders and the gold bell makes it a pretty nice looking horn. For the price you can't go wrong. Really appreciated Trent bringing it up so I could play it in a concert. Now that's customer service!
A fantastic offering from Manchester Brass - a professional model cornet at an affordable price! This model fedatures a gold brass bell for a warmer cornet sound, especially combined with the shepherds crook.
- ML-bore: .460"
- Yellow Lacquer
- 4 3/4" Gold Brass Bell
- Stainless Steel Pistons
- Case and 7C mouthpiece
I received the Manchester cornet a week ago and have had the opportunity to put it to the test. The construction of the instrument is totally professional. The valves and slides are super smooth right out of the case. The intonation is spot-on from a double peddle C up to a double G & A above high C. A lot of cornets go sharp in the upper register but the Manchester stays on the money. The tone quality is basically what I would call "Sweet" and can be adjusted by the depth of the mouthpiece. It is a very flexible instrument and is capable of playing any of the old Clarke/Arban solos. I highly recommend this cornet, especially for the price!
